Hi, I'm Hassan Gul.
I write and design sensory-friendly books, visual workbooks, and low-demand daily toolkits to help neurodivergent children feel safe, capable, and celebrated.
Why I Started Sensory Kids Books
Like so many parents, educators, and therapists, I noticed a painful disconnect in the children's book aisle. Traditional books and worksheets are often visually overwhelming: neon colors, cluttered pages, rigid moral lessons, and behavioral advice based on neurotypical operating systems.
For an autistic child, a teen with ADHD, or a child with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), high-pressure instructions like "just calm down" or rigid 30-minute chore charts don't build regulation—they trigger fight-or-flight freeze responses.
I founded Sensory Kids Books to offer an alternative: gentle, neurodiversity-affirming resources built with nervous-system science, low-demand declarative phrasing, and soft pastel palettes that honor sensory sensitivities.
Our 4 Publishing Principles
1. Low-Demand First
Connection before correction. Our tools use declarative language, gentle invitations, and micro-steps to prevent nervous system threat responses.
2. Calming Sensory Design
Distraction-free layouts, spacious margins, and soothing earthy pastel tones tested to prevent cognitive fatigue and light sensitivity.
3. Zero Forced Masking
We validate stimming, sensory accommodations, and authentic communication. We never teach children to suppress who they are to make others comfortable.
4. Unlimited Re-Printing Rights
Every digital PDF includes unlimited personal and classroom re-printing rights so families never fear mistakes or damaged worksheets.
