About this Resource

Autistic burnout and sensory fatigue are very real. When 1 in 36 children have autism, and so many face hidden sensory processing differences, we need a simple way for them to communicate that they are out of energy. I wrote this book using the visual metaphor of a battery to explain social and sensory exhaustion. I kept the pages sensory-friendly and predictable, offering kids the language they need to request a break before they reach a full meltdown.
