About this Resource

Picky eating is rarely about behavior; it is almost always about sensory defensiveness. For the 1 in 36 children with autism and those with ARFID or sensory processing differences, a new texture can trigger a severe gag reflex. I created this book to reframe mealtime. I intentionally avoided pressure tactics, instead using sensory-friendly illustrations to encourage "food exploration"—smelling, touching, and interacting with food safely. I designed this to remove the anxiety from the dinner table.

Frequently Asked Questions
